Feel like you’re not reaching Latino clients because your nutrition resources don’t cater to Latin foods and meal patterns? At best, traditional nutrition education asks Latinos to do more work to apply this advice to their own diets. At worst, conventional nutrition education can create feelings of shame around traditional Latin foods and lead clients to believe they have to choose between their health and their culture.
