Psychiatric nutrition is a relatively new area of research.  We’ve made some great strides in research over the past 10 years, but still have quite a ways to go. 

This updated guide presents research as it stands right now and discusses what is left to do.

Over the past year and a half, my conversations with patients and clients with Major Depressive Disorder have all agreed that when they are eating more healthily, their mood is better and they have more energy.  The manipulation of diet patterns and avoidance of the Standard American Diet can have vast improvements to a client’s symptoms directly as well as increase the efficacy of their medications.
