Four pages and full of color, this handout is useful for Dietitians working with patients that have a history of heart disease or are at high risk. Recommendations are evidence-based, so margarine is in the “less healthy” category and is not in the sample menu!

  • Positives and negatives

    I think the overarching goal of this handout is helpful- but there is a moralized agenda going on with certain food groups- and it reeks of a paleo or whole30 mindset. ie. grass fed meat and dairy only, coconut oil is good, canned beans are bad. These tropes are not helpful for an inpatient setting.
