The low FODMAP diet is an elimination-style food plan that is meant to be followed anywhere from 3 weeks to 6 months, depending on patient symptoms. FODMAP’s are types of starches or fibers that cause fermentation in the gut which lead to GI issues like IBS.

Originally created by MONASH University, this easy-to-understand version is quick to read and will:

  • Decrease symptoms of gas, bloating, abdominal pain, diarrhea, constipation and other digestive issues

  • Teach patients which foods are high in FODMAP and how much to safely consume daily to avoid symptoms

  • Provides instructions with how to reintroduce foods and test their tolerance to them to create a long-term food plan
