The best meal plans are the ones that a client is able to help build. I have found that when I ask clients to include a protein/grain/fat/vegetables they often say the same foods over and over again. This list makes meal planning a breeze as they incorporate their favorite foods while also pulling from a list that includes a variety of foods. List of foods – carbohydrate, proteins, fats and a  brief summary of their function.

    I work as an outpatient RD in a primary care clinic. I really believe in educating and having the client fill in the blanks rather than ‘handing out meal plans’. This handout is PERFECT to pair with macronutrient education. It helps the patient build THEIR OWN balanced meals!!! It is also a great list to answer the “just tell me what to eat” remark.
