This model helps RDs and CPTs guide athletes recovering from an Eating Disorder towards return to their desired sport performance level, while reducing risk of injury and relapse in the context of relative energy deficiency in sport (RED-S). 

Phase training incorporates a gradual, yet layered, exercise pattern that assists patients to return to movement while addressing behavior change, medical stability, and energy balance.
