With these simple swaps and substitutions you can create plant-based versions of some of your favourite recipes without sacrificing taste!

Cooking and baking from plant-based recipes is more straightforward as all of your ingredients and instructions are clearly laid out for you. But, knowing how to swap out ingredients and make appropriate plant-based substitutions gives you the freedom and ability to make any recipe plant friendly, no matter what ingredients the recipe initially calls for.

There are plenty of ready-made plant-based alternatives to meats, cheeses and eggs available these days!

Although these alternatives can be a great option for special occasions, they are generally quite processed and I don’t recommend eating them regularly. I have included some of these ready-made alternatives in the substitution lists below, but have tried my best to give you as many whole-food alternatives as possible.
