With $7,000+ in RD2RD Sales, Jen Shares Tips for Making the Sale on RD2RD.com.

Welcome back to the RD2RD InnovatoRD Series! Each quarter, RD2RD features an innovative, creative, entrepreneurial vendor and his/her story. We want to share RDNs successes with you, inspire you to learn from them and help you create products that will bring you earnings wins, too.

Today’s InnovatoRD features Jen Hernandez, RD. Jen helpclients through her virtual practice, with an emphasis on renal care.

She has taken her private practice successes – including group programs and meal planning – and has turned them into templates for you to implement in your own practice.

She is also an expert in streamlining private practice business operations, namely client onboarding.

I want to share my tools with fellow RDs!” Jen says.

Get to Know Jen: From Physical Therapy to Dietitian

Jen Hernandez RDN, CSR, LDN was a physical therapy tech in college.

“One day we had a middle-aged man come into the clinic after a double knee replacement,” she explains. “The physical therapist said he wished this man had seen a dietitian before he got to the point of needing knee replacements. I decided to go into preventive nutrition at that moment.”

Today, Jen’s nutrition private practice helps people with chronic kidney disease keep their kidneys functioning for as much as possible, as long as possible, without dialysis.

“People in the kidney community are highly motivated to keep their health, which motivates me to help them!”

Jen’s Tip #1 for Selling on RD2RD: Think About Who You Ultimately Want to Help

Jen, you are offering business forms and tools that are helping many dietitians save time, grow their practices and increase their earnings. What advice would you provide to someone who is an RD2RD vendor or thinking about becoming one, who wants to earn income by offering digital content for other RDNs?

“I’d say be sure to think about who it is you want to help. We are here to help other dietitians. Do you want to help another dietitian improve their clinical skills? Or perhaps you want to help other dietitians with special certifications that you have knowledge of. What aligns your passion to theirs?”

Such wise advice, Jen! We agree – hone your niche and create content for those who have similar interests who will benefit from your expertise.

Jen’s product reviews spell out the importance of this tip:

  • Getting started in Practice Better has been on my goals list for a while. This kit was great with exact instructions on how to load templates into Practice Better and directions how to put in automations!
  • The complete client form package was exactly what I was looking for! Jen did an amazing job creating and explaining each form, and it was so easy to integrate them into PB. These forms were exactly what I needed to help me feel more confident in running my private practice.
  • The complete client form package for PB is definitely worth the money. I was able to save time and get my clients started with the new platform right away!

Jen’s Tip #2: Use Shortcuts

Jen, tell us about more your thought process when you are creating a digital piece for sale on RD2RD.com.

“Sure! When I am preparing content for my own private practice, I think about how I can make it useful for other dietitians. I step back and think, ‘Wow, this is taking significant time and thought for me to put this piece together. I know someone else can use this as a shortcut!’

We need to be a supportive RDN community. Be there for one another. I love that my work helps other RDs succeed!

We love that, too, Jen. That’s what RD2RD is here to do – to foster support and community among RDNs. We second your advice, too – think about your niche, and think about how your expertise can serve other dietitians. Take your content and share it with dietitians who will benefit from your smart and savvy creations.

Jen’s Tip #3 for Selling on RD2RD: Make Content for Group Programming

Offering group programs is something that many dietitians are either currently doing or aim to provide to their clients and prospects. Doing so allows dietitians to increase their earnings potential exponentially versus solely offering one-on-one nutrition counseling.

“Yes! I have had so much success in offering group programming to my clients,” Jen agrees. “Everything from meal planning modules to seasonal programming and more. I highly recommend using templates to get started. Again, use shortcuts! Don’t create the templates from scratch when they’re already on RD2RD!”

You can offer group programs and streamline your business processes by using Jen’s content on RD2RD.com. You can also create your own incredible content to sell and grow your revenue.

Jen notes,

“I started my RD2RD vendor store in February 2019,” Jen says, “and I’ve made over $7,000 from helping RDs! I’ve gone from barely staying above the red in 2019 to a 6-figure private practice in 2020. You can, too – I know you can!”
