I am the recipient of the 2019 first prize in the Gourmand Cookbook Awards for Cooking in San Germán Puerto Rico, a regional Puerto Rican recipes cookbook. My favorite hobby is developing new recipes that are easy, nutritious and fit busy and health oriented lifestyles. I love cooking for friends and family and baking whole grain breads with my husband of 57 years, Tony. I believe that flavor rules, and every recipe prepared in my kitchen is original and created by me. My inspiration to write cookbooks came from my mother, who published her own recipe books in the late '70s, did cooking demonstrations on local television and taught basic Puerto Rican cooking classes at the local university.
